superlesbian:

… Yeah this is really not okay. Also you should know that a lot of transmen do NOT have a vagina. And the one’s who do might not want you to refer to it as such. And even transguys who have not had bottom surgery or don’t want to have bottom surgery or can’t afford bottom…

Kyle: What you have to consider is that SOME FTMs are comfortable with what they have. Some are okay with using typically female terms to define what they have. Breasts could have been changed to “man boobs” but that just sounds odd in my mind. What do you expect somebody with limited knowledge to call a trans guy’s genitals?

The vast majority of trans men have bonus box/boy box/front holes (aka “vaginas”). Although none of us want to refer to that part of our genitals with clinical terms, in all technicalities that’s simply what it is. This person stated that it’s not okay to have these feelings of finding FTMs sexy for their parts. In response to “their junk won’t look like a vagina anymore” there’s a flaw. It’s the clitoris/penis that is changed and enlarged, the vulva or external “bits” are changed, not the actual vagina.

Kyle: Though it doesn’t really touch on it, this response hints at a larger trend of pushing one way of viewing trans people’s sexuality onto some really grey areas. Like Kyle said, some guys are a-ok with what they have, and may completely enjoy it and call it “girly” terms. Others, as you would likely assume, want nothing to do with it and may not even have a term for it because if there’s no term then it’s easy to forget it’s even there. So why else is this a grey area? Because when some people see their anatomy one way and others another, you can’t say it’s flat out wrong to feel a certain way about toward a type of people. Don’t assume, but that goes both ways too—don’t assume that someone won’t be OK with it. Recognize the individuality of people and recognize too that there’s nothing inherently wrong with being attracted to a particular anatomical (and social) configuration.
